Energy Educational Alliance Support (EEAS)

Through the Energy Educational Alliance Support Task Order — under the People, Energy and Development Indefinite Quantity Contract (P.E.D. IQC) — CORE is providing the USAID Missions and Bureaus with capacity building services in energy program development, knowledge management, short-term capacity building services, gender integration, and other advisory services.

The major areas, covered by the EEAS Program, include:

  • Sustainable energy sector development and operations
  • Policy, legal and regulatory reform
  • Rural energy services and community development
  • Energy enterprise restructuring and commercialization
  • Technology transfer
  • Transportation infrastructure
  • Raising awareness on gender issues in the energy sector and ways to addressing them
  • Improving environmental and resource management practices critical areas

EEAS also places a special emphasis on good governance and anti-corruption practices through greater public participation.

The EEAS Task Order is a dynamic program allowing for both direct USAID/EGAT funding, as well as buy-in mechanisms for quick turnaround response to urgent and timely requests for assistance from host country governments.

Recently CORE undertook the following activity within the EEES Task Order:

Methane-to-Markets Partnership Private Sector Outreach Workshop

In June 2005 CORE provided support services to the Methane-to-Markets Partnership Private Sector Outreach Workshop. This event, sponsored by the U.S. Government, the American Petroleum Institute, the Solid Waste Association of North America, and the National Mining Association, brought together stakeholders from the public and private sector to discuss reducing methane emissions as well as advancing methane recovery.
