Energy Travel Task OrderCORE International, Inc., (CORE) is implementing the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funded "Energy Travel Program". This program facilitates key energy professionals from various countries attending international and regional energy workshops, conferences and training programs. This is an efficient mechanism for increased donor coordination as well as increased knowledge and skills exchange in the energy sector. CORE supports every aspect of the invited participants' attendance at the Energy Travel supported events. The CORE Team provides logistics through a commitment to the finest detail, allowing key participants and stakeholders with the ability to focus solely on the acquisition of additional knowledge rather than on travel planning. The most recent Energy Travel Events include the following:Commission for Sustainable Development, New York City, May 2006In May of 2006 the Commission for Sustainable Development, part of the United Nations organization, held its fourteenth session at UN Headquarters in New York City. As a forum for cross cutting issues that include social, economic, and environmental dimensions, CSD-14’s specific task was to identify “barriers and constraints, lessons learns and best practices in implementation in the thematic cluster of energy for sustainable development, industrial development, air pollution/atmosphere, and climate change”. Antonio Pinhel of the Brazilian utility COELBA attended the event and presented Brazil’s experiences in slum electrification and other energy related matters. Daniel Theuri of Kenya’s IDF participated in energy efficiency events and provided an African perspective to the event. Rani Parker of Business Community Synergies participated in panel discussions.
